“In reflecting on the birth of our son, hands down one of the best decisions we made was working with Compassionate Beginnings Doula and Birth Services. Chelsea and Hayley took the time to truly get to know us and meet us where we were at. Having had a birth with some traumatic elements prior and coming into this pregnancy after a miscarriage, I knew having extra support would be key. Hayley was absolutely wonderful and encouraging from our first conversation, talking with her felt like a hug, I felt truly heard. They became a lifeline throughout my pregnancy, encouraging me to advocate for myself and helping provide the tools and questions to do so. They kept me calm and focused through an emergency trip to OB triage, gestational diabetes diagnosis and preparing for labor. The education was far more helpful than birth classes we took before our daughter had been born. Meeting with them prior to birth encouraged us to have several conversations about what we wanted this birth to look and feel like. They erased my fear of the unknown of going into labor naturally with this birth and helped me pour positivity into our son’s birth experience long before he was born. They presented options that I hadn’t known about with my daughter for pain management. It was so easy to connect with both of them and was always very clear as who to reach out to and when. After a few weeks of going back and forth with signs that labor was coming, we went into labor early morning at 40+4 and Chelsea was on call. When I called her she was so supportive and assured me she would be ready to go when we wanted to go to the hospital. She helped me keep track of contraction patterns and when I told her we were heading to the hospital she was ten minutes behind us. She was a huge calming presence the moment she got into our OB triage room as the contractions were coming very fast and strong. We shocked the staff with the fact that I was past 9cm with how calm I was. Thanks to our discussions and resources we knew the best course of action was to move forward with gas and skip the epidural which would not have had time to work. What seemed terrifying for a few seconds, became one of the most positive parts of our birth. The epidural had been my safety net that I was also afraid to use and Chelsea helped to encourage me that I could do this. She was an extra hand to hold and squeeze and knew when to help with counter pressure. She helped me advocate for not laboring on my back and with laboring down. My husband had her reassurance and knowledge to know when we were close to baby arriving. It was a beautiful feeling being surrounded by support between my husband, doula, midwife and nurse. Chelsea captured some beautiful emotional moments in photographs for us on our phones once our little guy safely arrived. She then stayed with us and supported me through the midwives and OBs handling some bleeding complications. Hands down best birth experience, even when things weren’t going as planned. Hayley and Chelsea helped me have the birth of my dreams ….. positive and healing. I felt like a superhero with their support. Their follow up after birth also shows they truly care about their clients.”

“There are not enough words to express just how thankful I am for both Hayley and Chelsea at Compassionate Beginnings. From the first meeting to them visiting me postpartum, it has been such a wonderful relationship and experience.
They were so truly invested in my pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum. I know that I can text them at any point and they would be there for support and guidance. Chelsea was there during my birth and was an amazing individual to have in the room. She walked me through what was happening, provided additional support, even held my legs while I was pushing. She stayed with us after the birth for a few hours to make sure we were transitioning well. She followed up with us consistently in the days and weeks after to check in on both me and my baby. Hands down, working with them was the best investment I made. No doubt. I recommend them to everyone!”

“Words truly cannot express how grateful I am for both Hayley and Chelsea. Throughout my pregnancy they both were incredibly supportive, fully embraced my birth plan and truly wanted to make my birth experience a positive one. As most births, it did not go as planned. I unexpectedly had to be induced and delivered my daughter six weeks early. From the moment we informed Hayley and Chelsea of the induction, they were available whenever we needed and continuously checked on us until we were ready for them to join as at the hospital. Hayley happened to be “on call” for my labor. When she arrived, she provided the perfect calm energy that both my husband and I needed during what could have been a very scary delivery. She provided incredible support to me throughout an unmedicated labor, and aided my husband in ways that he could help. After delivery and throughout my daughters NICU stay, Hayley and Chelsea continues to check in on us and we’re available for whatever support we needed. I truly do not feel my labor and delivery process would have been as positive as it was without the expertise and reassurance that was provided from Hayley and Chelsea and cannot thank them enough.”

“Hiring Hayley to be our doula was the smartest decision we made in our pregnancy journey. This was my husband and I's first child and I knew that I would need extra support throughout the pregnancy and birth to make sure I looked back at the experience in a positive light. From the beginning Hayley listened to what I wanted out of my birthing experience and never tried to convince me to do things I wasn't interesting in, like many practitioners will do. When I went into labor a month early my husband and I had no idea I was in labor. I was checking in with Hayley and she asked how I was feeling and told me to call the hospital immediately. I had been in labor for over 20 hrs. She then was there for us throughout the birth at the hospital where I was being induced, she helped give use techniques to deal with the pain of childbirth and was my personal cheerleader. Although I kept telling her I couldn't do it she kept telling me I could which was exactly what I needed to hear. She also encapsulated my placenta which was a life saver postpartum and additionally consistently checked on me to make sure my husband and I were transitioning well into parenthood. If my husband and I choose to have another child first thing we will do is hire Hayley again!.”

“While it was an extra expense, hiring a doula service for the birth of my firstborn was one of the best decisions I made. I felt prepared going into the hospital thanks to their "pre-" meetings and education. They were my go-to for "is this normal?" questions. They gave me resources and helped keep me calm through my labor at home which started at 1 am, until I decided I was ready to go to the hospital. Hayley made sure to snap pictures in the delivery room, which I am so glad to have to look back on, she also stayed by my side when my mom and husband rushed over to admire the baby. Postpartum, Hayley and Chelsea both offered vital support in the form of texts, calls, and in-person check-ins. Even well after the contracted service, it was nice to be able to have someone to call when I felt overwhelmed by motherhood and needed an un-biased third party to just vent to. I highly recommend their doula services for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.”

“Working with Hayley and Chelsea absolutely exceeded my expectations! This was my first pregnancy and I'm so thankful that I found them!! Chelsea was with me every step of the way. She knew exactly how to keep me calm, relaxed and informed on all my options through the entire process, she is knowledgeable on every aspect of pregnancy, labor and postpartum. She didn't hesitate to step in and help the nurses with everything I needed. Honestly, I felt like we had been friends for years, we carried on conversations and enjoyed listening to country music while waiting for my sweet baby girl to arrive. I would highly recommend them both, I'm so glad I decided to hire a doula, I know my birth/labor experience wouldn't have been as successful, memorable and enjoyable without Chelsea by my side. I have a feeling that Chelsea will be in our lives for years to come. Thank you so much!”

“Having Hayley with us for the birth of our second was absolutely incredible. I was hoping for (and achieved) a VBAC with #2, Hayley helped me mentally and physically through a week prodromal labor while our son was a week and a half past his due date. Her presence was invaluable while also never dominating the moment. She supported both myself and my husband, encouraging us both along the way that we were doing exactly what we should be. Leading up do our due date we discussed different options and topics that we never knew about with our first (Hayley was our first Doula experience). She cheered us on and supported me through an unmedicated delivery, something I NEVER thought I’d be able to do having gone through 20+ hours of labor and and emergency cesarean with my first. I will absolutely encourage and recommend to anyone I know that they should have doula with them through their delivery and would recommend Hayley 1000 times over. After meeting her I instantly felt comfortable and as if she’d been apart of our family from the very beginning. I had a very tough time with our first and experienced postpartum depression and anxiety that carried into my second pregnancy. Having Hayley with us for our delivery of our second helped me gain so much more confidence as a parent, the entire experience healed any lingering doubt and trauma from the first. I will absolutely look to have her support us through our third when the day comes. We will never be able to thank her enough.”

“I highly recommend the support of Hayley & Chelsea. Our first initial meeting felt so natural and comfortable. My husband and I immediately afterwards felt like we were connected to the right people. We felt heard and confident we had the right team to support me during labor & delivery. I had the pleasure of working with Chelsea. Seriously, it's like she's your big sister. I couldn't have achieve a natural birth without my husband and Chelsea. Plus the extra support she provides postpartum. I am absolutely grateful to God we all connected. There is no doubt you need them as part of your team through pregnancy & birth. You won't find anyone better than these two women. Tell them Tiffany sent you.”

“Where do I even begin! I normally do not give reviews but I can’t say enough amazing things about Hayley. I always thought I wanted a doula when thinking about my birthing experience, and in my initial conversation with Hayley, I was reassured that both me and my husband would need her support. My husband was a little weary at first since he did not want anything taken away from him, but we both couldn’t feel more passionate that he was even MORE involved due to Hayley’s support for him to support me even better. He was more involved in the birthing process than he thought he would be since he was empowered to know what would help me. Hayley really got the time to learn my preferences and my personality to be able to support me in the way I needed to be supported. She ensured that my birth preferences were implemented and educated me through the whole process, which was extremely helpful for me and what I was looking for in a doula. I can confidently say that my birth experience was better than I could have imagined and would not have been the same without Hayley. In our last meeting, I told Hayley that I would miss her and she assured me that she wants to stay in contact and be updated with baby pictures. We are so fortunate for having found Hayley and can’t thank her enough. Do not think twice about hiring her as your doula!!”

“Hayley and Chelsea are absolutely amazing! They were kind, flexible and incredibly professional through the entire pregnancy and birthing process. As first time parents, we were not sure of what to expect and we felt like we knew so little (and we did). Hayley and Chelsea made sure we had every opportunity to learn from their wealth of knowledge while also ensuring we felt empowered and supported through the whole pregnancy and birthing process. We worked with Hayley during our son’s birth and she provided wonderful support both via text before she came to the hospital as well as when she was with us in the hospital, ensuring that we felt comfortable and felt supported. Hayley’s services were EXACTLY what we needed! Looking back, we couldn’t imagine going through it all without her!”

“I decided to get my placenta encapsulated for my first pregnancy for the mental health benefits and milk supply. I had a great experience with Hayley, who was extremely helpful, kind, and responsive. I’d definitely recommend anyone use her services.”

“Hayley is a wonderful person who has supported me in different ways throughout the birth of my two daughters in the last two years. In two very different situations Hayley was calm and yes, compassionate, and a wealth of resources. I cherish her and the support she has given me, and would strongly recommend her and her team for their wide variety of prenatal and postpartum support to anyone who is expecting. There aren’t words to describe how thankful I am for Hayley, I don’t know how anyone gives birth without her!”
